  Este artículo explora la importancia de que la Armada chilena participe activamente en el desarrollo de tecnologías espaciales, subrayando la necesidad de diversificar las capacidades de defensa más allá del ámbito marítimo. Se destacan cómo recientes iniciativas, como el lanzamiento del FASat-Delta, la creación del Centro Espacial Nacional y el desarrollo del Sistema Nacional Satelital (SNSat), que están posicionando a Chile en la vanguardia de la seguridad nacional y la gestión de desastres.

  This article examines the relevance of the Chilean Navy’s active involvement in the development of space technologies, emphasizing the need to diversify defense capabilities beyond the maritime domain. The author outlines how recent initiatives, such as the launch of FASat-Delta satellite, the creation of the National Space Center and the development of the National Satellite System (SNSat), are positioning Chile at the forefront of national security and disaster management.
