  Se describe la primera circunnavegación francesa del globo terráqueo. Se conjuga la presencia de tres personajes: Boungainville (comandante de la expedición), Commerçon (naturalista) y Jeanne Baret (su asistente). Se detalla su importancia histórica, científica y su humana circunstancia. Jeanne fue la primera mujer en dar la vuelta al mundo y también la primera europea en pisar las costas del estrecho de Magallanes. Se analiza también la relación entre ciencia e historia.

• Abstract:

  This work describes the first French circumnavigation of the globe, highlighting three main characters: Bougainville, expedition commander; Commerson, the naturalist; and Jeanne Beret, Bougainville´s assistant. It includes a detailed discussion of their historical and scientific importance, as well as the human circumstances surrounding this expedition. Jeanne was the first Frenchwoman to circumnavigate the world and the first European to set foot on the shores of the Strait of Magellan. It also analyzes the relationship between science and history.
